Polaris is coming into 2027 with two of its biggest off-road innovations yet: the all-new 275-horsepower RZR Pro R Boost and a reengineered Polaris XPEDITION featuring NUMATIX Controlled CVT and integrated onboard air.
One machine is built to completely redefine high-performance side-by-sides. The other introduces technology designed to make long-distance adventure quieter, smoother and more capable.
2027 RZR Pro R Boost: 275 Horsepower of Pure Performance
The new RZR Pro R Boost is officially the most powerful production RZR ever built.
Its turbocharged ProStar Fury 2.0-liter engine produces an industry-leading 275 horsepower, delivering immediate throttle response, stronger acceleration and consistent power throughout the RPM range. Polaris didn’t simply add a turbo and call it finished. The entire machine was upgraded to handle the additional power, including:
- A new high-capacity clutching system with increased airflow and cooling
- Dual-radiator cooling for the engine, turbo and transmission
- An upgraded transmission and stronger front drive system
- Reinforced half shafts and driveline components
- Refined CVT tuning and new engine isolators to reduce noise and vibration
The RZR Pro R Boost will be available in two- and four-passenger configurations with Ultimate and Ultra trim options.
Ultimate models receive desert-tuned DYNAMIX suspension with new G-out protection and rear bump control. Ultra models step up to DYNAMIX DVS with active sway-bar links that can adjust up to 200 times per second. Ultra models also include 32-inch BFGoodrich tires, carbon-fiber components, an MPI GT steering wheel and exclusive colors and graphics.
Apple CarPlay compatibility is also planned through a future software update.
With a starting MSRP of $49,999, the 2027 RZR Pro R Boost is expected to begin arriving at dealerships in November 2026.
2027 Polaris XPEDITION Introduces NUMATIX Controlled CVT
The Polaris XPEDITION already combined serious trail performance with a fully enclosed cab, heat and air conditioning. For 2027, Polaris has reengineered the driving experience with the industry’s first pneumatic continuously variable transmission.
The new NUMATIX Controlled CVT uses air pressure to actively regulate the drive clutch. A dedicated control module monitors the driver, terrain and vehicle behavior up to 200 times per second, continuously adjusting clutch pressure to provide the right response for the situation.
What does that mean behind the wheel?
A smoother, more controlled driving experience with lower cruising RPM and up to a 40% reduction in perceived cab noise at 35 mph compared with previous models. Three Reimagined Drive Modes
NUMATIX works with the electronic throttle system to change how the XPEDITION responds based on the selected drive mode:
- Comfort Mode delivers smooth engagement, lower noise and relaxed cruising.
- Standard Mode balances refinement and responsive performance across changing terrain.
- Sport Mode sharpens throttle response and increases engine speed when more aggressive performance is wanted.
The system also improves belt grip and clutch engagement under demanding conditions such as steep climbs, rock crawling, towing, hauling and snow plowing.
Integrated Onboard Air Comes Standard
The same pneumatic system operating the NUMATIX transmission also provides the 2027 XPEDITION with standard integrated onboard air.
An auxiliary air port gives riders on-demand compressed air for:
- Adjusting tire pressure for different terrain
- Inflating a tire while out on the trail
- Clearing dust, mud, debris or snow from equipment
- Operating compatible air-powered Polaris accessories
Available accessories include a 25-foot air hose and a four-gallon pressurized water tank that can be mounted in the cargo bed. It is the kind of practical feature that could save a ride when you are miles away from a truck, trailer or air compressor.

The RZR Pro R Boost is built for customers who want extreme performance and the most horsepower Polaris has ever offered in a production RZR.
