This 40V battery-powered top-handle chainsaw is the world’s first top-handle battery chainsaw with a clutch. The T542i XP® delivers added torque and power output equivalent to 40cc gas engines. Ideal for tree care professionals and climbing arborists, this saw has an IPX4 rating for use in rain or shine. And proprietary active cooling technology delivers more consistent power and helps extend battery life. Combined with our X-PRECISION® guide bar and SP21G chain, this saw feels like gas, performs like gas, but has all the benefits of battery.

Centrifugal clutch
The centrifugal clutch provides kick-start energy at the start of every cut, and helps keeping the chain from getting stuck in the wood.

High chain speed
High chain speed for fast, smooth cutting

Intuitive, accessible keypad
The accessible keypad helps you to stay in control; start and stop easily by pressing a button. A savE™-function allows for a choice between max runtime or max power. Charge status is always clearly visible when the battery is activated, the oil drop symbol lit up when chain oil is running low and there’s a reminder if the chain brake is in ’on’-position.

Rope attachment
A sturdy point for fastening a rope, making it easy to hoist the saw up into a tree.

Belt eyelet
Makes it quick and easy to connect the saw to the climbing harness.

Automatic shutdown
The product is automatically shut down after 3 minutes of being idle, which prolongs the life of the battery and also lower the risk for injuries when left unattended. With the chainbrake activated, the shutdown occurs after 30 minutes.

Chain oil sensor
The oil indicator in the key pad lits up when refilling chain oil is needed

Power-Conserving savE™ Mode
SavE™ mode maximises the run time, reduces noise levels and preserves product battery life by lowering the rpm. Ideal for tasks that do not require full power. Just press the button to turn savE™ mode on and off.

Retained bar nuts

Flip-up tank cap
